Liquid Cooling Building Engineer job
Liquid cooling building engineers keep the coolant loops on AI data center halls running: the CDUs, pumps and heat exchangers that carry heat off the chips and into the building's chilled water. It's 24/7 shift work, usually hourly, and it sits inside the same critical facilities team as the chief engineer and the technicians.

The job
Liquid cooling building engineers keep the coolant loops on AI data center halls running: the CDUs, pumps and heat exchangers that carry heat off the chips and into the building's chilled water. It's 24/7 shift work, usually hourly, and it sits inside the same critical facilities team as the chief engineer and the technicians.
Work
- Run and monitor CDUs (coolant distribution units): flow, pressure, supply temperature, pump failover.
- Keep loop chemistry in range: PG25 glycol at 24.5 to 27.5%, pH, inhibitor levels, lab samples, a log of every addition.
- Change filters (25 or 50 micron on the CDU) based on differential pressure.
- Respond to leak detection alarms and isolate the loop.
- Rounds on temperature, pressure, flow and BAS alarms; preventive and corrective maintenance; vendor coordination.
- EPA 608 Universal applies to the refrigerant side: chillers and any DX equipment.

A 24/7 data center supporting liquid-cooled AI hardware in Florence, KY is hiring a building engineer, liquid cooling at $48 an hour.
Aligned's DFW-04 in Plano, under construction, will use Aligned's DeltaFlow liquid cooling, which Aligned says can cool up to 300 kW per rack, with Lambda as a planned tenant (DatacenterDynamics). Our Dallas-Fort Worth building engineer hiring starts in April 2027.
Meta's fourth Eagle Mountain campus expansion, announced September 2026, is planned with closed-loop liquid cooling (DatacenterDynamics). It is the one project in our tracker data that states liquid cooling.
