Who we serve

Recruiting for Colocation and Wholesale Data Center Operators

Colocation and wholesale operators build campuses for tenants and then run them around the clock. We recruit the people who open and run those buildings: the chief engineer and critical facilities team before turnover, data center technicians for tenant work, controls and commissioning for each new phase, and a site lead for each new metro.

Hiring situations

  • A campus in a new metro needs a chief engineer and a full shift rotation before the first hall goes live.
  • A tenant signs for a liquid-cooled hall and the site team has only run air and chilled water.
  • Each phase adds halls, and operations headcount has to grow on the phase schedule.
  • Junior technicians leave for other operators in the same metro.
  • A metro needs a site lead where the company has no one yet.

Roles

  • Site and operations directors
  • Chief engineers and critical facilities managers
  • Critical facilities engineers and critical environment technicians
  • Liquid cooling building engineers
  • Data center and remote hands technicians
  • Controls, BMS and EPMS engineers
  • Commissioning managers for each new phase

FAQ

Questions

How much of the build pipeline belongs to operators?
In our data center tracker (115 projects in nine U.S. markets), established data center operators hold 46 of the projects and 17 of the 23 under construction. Each of those buildings needs an operations team before the first hall goes live.
Where do colocation operations roles turn over most?
In Uptime Institute's 2025 staffing survey (864 operators and staff, July to September 2025), junior and mid-level operations roles had the highest turnover, especially at colocation sites, and colocation operators were recruiting more from students.
Can you hire for several phases or campuses at once?
Yes. We run one search per role family across your sites and report by site, so every candidate we screen can be considered for each site in the same metro.
Do you work on a per-hire fee or a monthly retainer?
Both. For a single seat, contingency. For a campus opening or a phase with many seats, a monthly engagement with a reduced per-hire fee and a written weekly report. Pricing is on the homepage.
