Annual pay

Each posting lists a low and a high end. The median low is the middle value of all the low ends for that role, and the median high is the middle of all the high ends. We publish figures only for roles with at least 5 postings.

Commissioning engineer: median $101,000 to $159,000, posted range $80,000 to $327,000, from 16 postings. Commissioning manager or lead: median $141,000 to $214,000, posted range $120,000 to $292,000, from 12 postings. Scope

  • Base pay as posted. Postings rarely include per diem, travel pay, overtime or bonuses, and many commissioning roles add those on top.
  • Wide ranges usually mean one posting covers several levels, from a mid-level engineer to a lead.
  • The highest figures come from AI and hyperscale employers hiring for large campuses.

Method

  • We searched company career pages and job boards for data center commissioning roles that state a pay range, with a focus on states that require pay ranges in postings.
  • We opened every posting and recorded only the range it states. We skipped postings with a single figure or a range labeled as an estimate.
  • Where one employer posted the same pay band for many locations, we kept a few of those postings and skipped the rest.
  • We do not name employers. Postings were open when we checked them in October 2026.

This edition leans toward Texas, and 15 of the 48 postings are from staffing agencies. States that require pay ranges are still thin. Each monthly update adds new postings and drops closed ones.
